For more than three decades, I built a successful career in accountancy, navigating the pace and demands of corporate life.
From the outside, my life looked much like anyone else's.
I worked hard, built a career, raised a family, took care of the home, and enjoyed the occasional holiday.
A few years ago, life took me down a path I could never have anticipated.
For the first time, I was confronted not with the life I had created on the outside, but with the truth of how I felt on the inside.
My inward journey revealed just how lost and disconnected I had become from the truth of who I am.
As I began to get honest with myself, I could no longer ignore what I had spent so many years pushing aside.
The relationship I was in no longer felt aligned. I felt emotionally and physically disconnected within it, and deep down I knew it had reached its purpose in my life.
Although I had built a successful business, I realised I no longer enjoyed the work I was doing.
If I was completely honest, I wasn't sure I ever truly had.
It had become a career I was good at, rather than one that reflected who I really was.
The life I had created no longer felt like it belonged to me.
I didn't feel fulfilled.
I felt lost, confused, and deeply uncertain about what came next.
I knew there was more for me in this lifetime, but I couldn't yet see the path towards it.
I was frightened of the unknown.
Frightened of making such significant changes. I knew not everyone would understand, and at times it felt like I would have to find the courage to walk that path alone.
What came next was a devotion I made to myself. I was going to love myself so fiercely, as though my life depended on it.
Little by little, day by day, sometimes hour by hour, I began making different decisions. Decisions that reflected greater love for myself.
Decisions that honoured my truth.
Each of those decisions, whether small or significant, created a ripple effect of transformation throughout my life.
Over time, I found the courage to leave the relationship and the home that had once felt like my security.
I closed my business and stepped away from a career that spanned more than 30 years, knowing it no longer reflected who I truly was.
It wasn't easy. In fact some days were bloody hard!
There were many moments of uncertainty, fear, and grief. But there was also something stronger quietly growing within me.
I chose to trust.
I chose to surrender to the wisdom I had come to know so well within myself, believing that if I continued honouring my truth, the next chapter of my life—and the purpose I was here to live—would reveal itself.
And it did.
My devotion to loving myself has been the greatest gift I have ever given myself, because it brought me home to the remembrance of who I truly am.
Today, I have the privilege of living that purpose.
Through Journey Home to Self, I create spaces where women who know something in their life is asking to change can feel deeply heard.
Through honest conversation, I support them to reconnect with the wisdom, strength, and truth that already exist within them.
I feel incredibly blessed to walk alongside women as they begin their own remembrance of who they truly are.
To witness that unfolding is something I will never take for granted.
